Kendall & Bridal Crew Mannequin Challenge

Today's wedding was an absolute blast with Kendall & Dakota in Yukon, Oklahoma.  I could write a long post about all the wonderful qualities of this amazing couple, but I will save that for the preview images.  Of course, you are wondering why this short post versus a lenghtly description with wonderful images at the Palace Event Center... well, honestly... it's late, my feet hurt and the computer is still importing.  LOL. I do what to leave you with something.  Something special and unique.  Kendall's Bridal Crew Manniquin Challenge video!  More updates coming soon!

The Benefits of Second Shooting a Wedding

The Benefits of Second Shooting a Wedding

I often second shoot for other photographers through out the year. There are many benefits to this for the primary photograph as well as for the second shooter. Assisting my colleagues so they can capture all the important memories, emotions and details for their client is the primary goal, this allows them to have a well rounded album. Second shooters can capture different perspectives of the day, such as emotions, reactions and actions which will add nicely to their day. It's always good to have a second set of eyes to catch little things that can go unnoticed, for example, phones in pockets, twisted hems, even hair that is entwined in an earring. It also allows for more coverage, both photographers can be in different locations at the same time. For example the primary photographer can be photographing the bride getting ready while the second shooter is documenting the groom getting ready. Having a second photographer can also serve as a backup in the event gear fails, the second can fill in for the primary while changing out gear should theirs fail, let's hope this never happens, but we all know Murphy's law, if it can happen it will.  You never know when a "moment" will happen and you want to be sure to capture it.

Just a thought as I prepare to second shoot this next weekend. Here are a few images of me second shooting. Enjoy.

Tyler + Kaylee 7.24.16

Tyler & Kaylee married on a hot Sunday afternoon in July at the Stonebrook Event Center. It was a beautiful cloudless day with a gentle breeze every so often.  They are just an adorable couple who like to have fun. You can see the love as they interact with each other. Tyler and Kaylee opted for the not so first look. With everyone tucked away it was a few silent moments for them to reflect on the journey they are preparing to embark on. During this time they exchanged gifts, Kaylee gave Tyler a pair of Batman cufflinks with his name engraved on them. He is an avid Batman fan. Tyler gave Kaylee a unique ring wth the same color stone as her engagement ring. I found this to be so endearing. During the ceremony both families participated in a sand ceremony, then they gathered for a small prayer. It was then time to kiss the bride and Tyler did what Tyler does best.  I have seen him dip Kaylee on several occasions so I knew to expect it. Tyler and all the guys looked so dapper in their tuxedos. Kaylee dress was gorgeous, with lace for some romance and some bling to match her sparkly personality. Tyler's mom's made all the floral arrangements and Kaylee's mom sewed each of the bridesmaid's dresses and both dresses for the flower girls. What a talented family.  After dancing the night away to the cupid shuffle, props to the entire family for getting in on this.  Super cool to see them all dancing together as one.  The newly married couple drove off into the sunset with a T-Bucket that Tyler and his grandfather built together.

Congratulations Tyler & Kaylee, I was honored to capture your wedding and wish you many years of happiness and blessings as you embark on this new journey as husband and wife.
